  22. *Transmit File      ( ALT T )

  24.         The Transmit File function is used to send an ASCII
  25.         file to the TNC. To send a file, click on the Files
  26.         Menu item or press the "F" key when the Menu system is
  27.         activated. You may now press either a "T" or click the mouse
  28.         on the Transmit File selection.
  29.  
  30.         At this point the file selector will appear on the screen.
  31.         To select a file using the mouse double click on the file to
  32.         send, no other action is required.

  34.         To use the cursor keys to pick a file, move the cursor until
  35.         the required file is highlighted. Using the TAB  key
  36.         move to the OK  box. This may also be chosen by
  37.         pressing the 'O' key.   This file will be sent to the TNC
  38.         at this time.

  57. *Receive File       ( ALT R )

  59.         To open a file for logging  the incoming data, click or
  60.         select the Receive File option. The file name will be
  61.         defaulted to the following format :

  67.                                         mm - month
  68.                                         dd - day
  69.                                         hh - hour
  70.                                         tt - minute

  73.         You may rename this file, if you wish. To do so just
  74.         'tab' to the file entry box.

  76.     Appending  an Existing File
  77.  
  78.         If you wish to append (add to) an existing file, use the
  79.         cursor keys or mouse to select the file to be appended. The
  80.         received data will be 'tacked' on to the end of the existing
  81.         file.

  87.     AEA-PK-232  Host  Mode (packet only)
  88.  
  89.         When receiving a file using the AEA PK232 in Host
  90.         mode the file will be opened against the current
  91.         active STREAM or CHANNEL.  The program will allow one file
  92.         per STREAM  or CHANNEL.  If you have problems with your computer
  93.         locking up try setting the FILES and BUFFERS
  94.         values in CONFIG.SYS to a higher value.

  109. *Print  Toggle       ( ALT P )

  111.         This command allows the user to log all received data to the
  112.         printer. To activate click on the selection. A message will
  113.         appear on the middle status bar that the printer is
  114.         activated, "Prt On". If an error occurs the message "Prt
  115.         ERR" will appear.

  117.         To toggle the printer off, click on this selection again.
  118.         This will disable the printer. The message "Prt Off" should
  119.         appear in the status box in the middle of the screen.

  137.         The "Print File" command is used to print a file from disk.
  138.         The File Selector (refer to section on File Selector) will
  139.         be displayed on the screen.  The user may select the desired
  140.         file and press the 'O' (Ok) key or double click on the entry
  141.         with a mouse.  To cancel  the print file function press
  142.         either the 'ESC ' key or click the mouse off of the
  143.         File selector.

  145.         Note All printing is done as a background operation.
  146.         As such nornal operation may be continued while
  147.         printing a file.  Maximum file size is 64K.

  149.         No actions are required after the file is printed.

  219. *DOS  Shell     (CTRL S)

  221.         The dos shell commands allows the user to run other programs
  222.         from the dos prompt,  while leaving  resident in
  223.         memory.  You must remember that it may not be possible to
  224.         run all programs do to the reduced memory space.

  226.         To return to  XPCOM type "EXIT " or "XPCOM" at the DOS
  227.         Prompt.  The program will return to the previous state.  Any
  228.         data that has been decoded by the TNC  will appear on
  229.         the screen.

  246.         This command invokes the User defined text editor (see Setup
  247.         Menu).  The user will be prompted with a file selector.
  248.         Refer to section on File Selector .  Pick the desired
  249.         file to be edited or create  a new file by using the
  250.         'F' command and entering the new file name.

  252.         After exiting the text editor,  XPCOM will resume
  253.         normal operations.

  278.         This will end the program, the program may also be
  279.         terminated by pressing 'ALT-X'.  You will be prompted for
  280.         two actions.  The first is a confirmation that you really
  281.         want to quit the program.  If you select 'Yes' you will also
  282.         be prompted and given a chance to save  the current
  283.         operating parameters.  If you have made any changes that you
  284.         want to keep ( color, scroll back etc.)  save them at this
  285.         time,  otherwise they will be lost.
